I haven't worked on Dear Jane for a year. I've started up again. I believe I have 7 blocks finished and 6 to go on F row. I've done a few in this row that were a challenge to piece by hand, but I managed to get through them. It felt strange to return to this mostly hand pieced and appliqued quilt top. I was so overwhelmed trying to get back into the swing of things after our month on the road this winter. I do think I'm finally back where I need to be.
I did completely finish "1968 Hexi". Before I finished, I pulled something in my neck and had to put it aside for about 3 weeks, but it is now on my bed and I sleep under it every night. I do love how it goes with a quilt I finished up around 2019, before COVID hit. I used the same color scheme on both quits and together they just look playful. NEED TO TAKE PICS OF BED MADE WITH BOTH QUILTS.
April 14, 2026
It is almost a year later today is April 14, 2026. Sometimes life happens so quickly. My husband of 54-1/2 years passed away on February 15th, 2026. Michael was a great companion for life. We enjoyed so much together. I've seen more than half the country because of him. Our first long ride through the US started in December of 1971, our honeymoon. We flew to Champaign, Illinois, where he lived through most of his teen years. From there we drove the Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, then Oregon, where my in-laws had moved. We were moving their car. That was our first long adventure. It seems like we had a lot of those. I've seen over half of this country because of him. Our last adventure was 2025, mid January to mid February. From the beginning, I loved being with him where ever we traveled. It was always and adventure. This is a beautiful country to journey.
We have had the privilege of raising four sons together. What a blessing they are, just like their father. Babies at first, then toddlers, then kindergarten, grammar school, high school when they became working men, college, marriage, hard working men with beautiful wives, fatherhood themselves and now almost empty nesters, Men, women and their children all great people. How very proud their father was of his family as it grew.
So as life has changed, so has technology!! Not sure I can still add pictures to this page! That's okay because the picture is on the home page of this laptop..I get to see it all the time😊
